Understanding Skin Scars
Scars are natural results of the skin’s healing process after surgery, cuts, burns, or other trauma. While they are a normal part of recovery, some scars can be raised, depressed, or pigmented, affecting both appearance and self-confidence. Types of Scars

Treatment Options for Scars in Izmir

Fractional CO2 Laser for Scars

BBL (BroadBand Light) for Pigmented Scars
BBL may be considered when redness or pigment change is a major component of a healed scar. It targets vascular or pigment chromophores rather than scar depth itself, so it is not a substitute for structural scar treatment. Dermapen (Microneedling) for Scar Remodeling
Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries that can support remodelling in selected shallow or atrophic scars. Expected benefit varies with scar depth and pattern. Dermapen Microneedling may be used alone or as part of a staged plan when appropriate.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) for Skin Regeneration

Topical and Injectable Treatments
For hypertrophic or raised scars, intralesional corticosteroids or silicone-based topical therapies can be applied. Injectable fillers may be considered for selected depressed scars when anatomy and scar characteristics are suitable.

No procedure can guarantee complete scar removal. Depending on scar type and maturity, realistic goals may include:
- Improving selected texture or contour irregularities
- Reducing excessive thickness or symptoms in raised scars
- Addressing persistent redness or pigment change when appropriate
- Using staged or combined treatment only when different scar components require it
- Balancing expected benefit against downtime, pigment change and further scarring risk
